Show profile

Ingredients Russia is Russia’s largest and most well known exhibition for the food ingredients industry.  It has been at the forefront of the Russian ingredients industry for over ten years, reflecting its trends and actively promoting its development. The show acts as a barometer for the market and is an excellent source of information about competitors, distribution networks and other market characteristics.

Event Manager, Agil Karimov, comments:  “Ingredients Russia is the ideal place to find out about the latest ingredients available to Russia’s growing food market and, as the largest gathering of food industry specialists, it is an excellent place to meet colleagues from all areas of the industry.  The global financial crisis has forced companies to focus on retaining and growing their market share and many will find Ingredients Russia an invaluable source of innovative new ideas.  I am looking forward to seeing all our participants next month.”

TechnoFood

The TechnoFood Exhibition demonstrates the latest processing and packaging technology available in the market from both local and international equipment providers. It reflects the growth of the food technology sector and aims to establish a vital route to market for suppliers of food technology and equipment.

The Ingredients Russia Forum

The Ingredients Russia Forum is an essential source of information for anyone interested in the food ingredients markets. Topics cover all aspects of the food ingredients industry. Entrance is free to all those taking part in the exhibition and it draws a large audience of up to 450 attendees. New features for 2009 include a focus on tropical oils, the role of biologically active additives, technical regulations for the safe use of food additives, the use of micro-additives a round-table discussion on innovations and new types of food ingredients, and the Innovation Zone displaying the latest products.

The Ingredient of the Year Competition

The Ingredient of the Year competition attracts a great deal of media attention. It is the ideal way for exhibitors to ensure their products are at the forefront of potential customers’ minds and, of course, those of the visiting trade media.  The competition is supported by the Union of Food Ingredients Producers and contains the following categories:  Innovative product: development, production, distribution and implementation, Innovative technology, Best presentation, Best publication and Contribution to the domestic food ingredients industry.

Innovation Zone

For the first time, exhibitors will be invited to demonstrate products that have been developed over the last year or introduced to the Russian market since October 2008.  This section is expected to draw a lot of visitor and media attention.  It is sponsored by Soyuzsnab JSC.

The Food Production Technologist School

This new feature of the exhibition will enable industry specialists to improve their knowledge by attending lectures on topics relating to the use of food ingredients, biologically active additives and flavourings in production processes.  The school is organised by the Union of Food Ingredients Producers, the Moscow State University of Food Production and ITE.  Lectures will be given by leading experts, including A. Nechaev, Ph.D., Professor, President of the Union of Food Ingredients Producers; A. Kochetkova, Ph.D., Professor; I. Matveeva, Ph.D, Professor; A. Zharinov, Ph.D., Professor; E. Gorenkov, Ph.D., Professor; and E. Smirnov, Candidate of Chemical Sciences.  All participants will receive a certificate of advanced training.

Pharmtech

After the success of 2008, the international pharmaceutical technology exhibition, Pharmtech, will be taking place again alongside Ingredients Russia, allowing a crossover of visitors from similar industries.

A selection of comments from this year’s international exhibitors:

“This is the first time that we are participating in Ingredients Russia.  We find Ingredients Russia to be the best exhibition to display our products to Russian ingredients customers.  It is one of the main and oldest exhibitions in Russia.  It is also specific to the industry, attracting food, drink and other ingredient-related companies.  We will be presenting food colours, which can be used in food, beverages, confectionary and many other products.  The Russian market is very important for us as its food industry is growing very fast.  We expect to get a good promotion of our products through Ingredients Russia.”
Dixit Patel, Dynemic Products Ltd.

“This is our first time at Ingredients Russia.  At the exhibition, we plan to develop awareness of the Rousselot brand in Russia and we will be presenting products such as gelatines and hydrolyzed collagens.  In addition, we will be demonstrating a new product, Peptan hydrolyzed collagen for the beauty industry.  Russia is a developing market for Rousselot.”
Caroline Brochard-Garnier, Communication Manager, Rousselot SAS

“For more than 10 years, the National Starch Food Innovation company has used Ingredients Russia as a platform to attract potential clients and to meet existing partners.  It is the main food ingredients event for the Russian-speaking FSU countries, so by being present at Ingredients Russia, we can meet food producers from various regions and countries.  This year, we are inviting food producers to learn more about our cost-saving expertise, offering a clear route to success in the current economic climate.  Developing value-added products with lower production costs is an achievable goal with our help.  Simple reformulation that enables cost reduction without impacting consumer appeal can be achieved across a multitude of applications using our speciality starches.  Russia is a key market for our company and it has shown substantial growth over the last 10 years.  Local food production has developed intensively following the Russian financial crisis in 1998.  Major international food producers have opened production facilities and foreign retailers have spread their outlets all over Russia.  Even after the 2008 global crisis, Russia remains a country with huge potential and fantastic opportunities.  It has overcome many obstacles throughout its history and these are always followed by periods of intense growth – this will not be an exception.  Our company would like to play a large part in the further development of the country, overcoming difficult times together with the Russian food market.”
Tatiana Matveeva, National Starch Food Innovation

“Russia is one of the fastest growing markets for California almonds and there has been a rapid increase in the use of these products in confectionery, bakery and ice cream production. The Almond Board of California has been participating in the Ingredients Russia trade show annually since 2004. One of our main goals is to educate importers, wholesalers, distributors and food manufacturers about almond purchasing considerations and technical aspects, as well as demonstrating the increased profit potential through the development of new almond applications. Consistent participation in the Ingredients Russia trade show - the largest Russian show devoted to food processing, including the confectionery industry - allows ABC to establish and maintain contacts with Russian nut importers, ingredient traders and food manufacturers that come to the show from all over Russia and provide them with more information about Californian almonds and benefits of almonds use in confectionery and other food processing industries.  At Ingredients Russia 2009, the Almond Board of California will introduce a new global image for California Almonds to the Russian industry members”.
Irina Koziy, Almond Board of California, Representative Office in Russia

A selection of comments from last year’s international exhibitors:

“SOYAPROTEIN was the first company to appear on the Russian market with soybean products meant for the food industry, and our products are being sold in this region since 1992. Taking part in the ‘Ingredients Russia’ exhibition for seven consecutive years has helped us keep in contact with old customers, acquire new ones, maintain a reputation for being a reliable supplier and it has increased the volume of our sales on the Russian market ten fold.”
Milenko Tica, Foreign Trade Department Director, Sojaprotein

“In spite of the difficult economic situation worldwide and in Russia in particular, the ingredients market will not only survive, but also grow rapidly. The industry must develop and it will do so mainly through the efforts of those gathering at the Ingredients Russia exhibition.”
Alexey Nechaev, President of the Union of Food Ingredients Producers in Russia

“Undoubtedly, Russia offers great potential. Kerry is a world leader in food ingredients and flavours but we have a lot of work to do to establish ourselves in the minds of our potential customers here in Russia. By sponsoring the exhibition, we can make an important step in this direction. The event offers us the opportunity to meet face to face and understand first hand the opportunities and challenges posed by the market in Russia.”
Mike McCarthy, Managing Director, Kerry Ingredients & Flavours CEE (2008 Official Sponsor)

“Food production in the Moscow Region grows by an incredible 25–28% a year and calls for mutually-beneficial partnerships with local manufacturers.”
Vladimir Blinov, Head of the Department of Coordination of Food Production, Ministry of Agriculture of the Moscow Region Government

“ROQUETTE has already participated in the Ingredients Russia exhibition and appreciates the opportunity to meet prospective customers both from Russia and CIS – Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries. After the last exhibition, we analysed the attendance of our stand to determine the trends and changes of the starch and starch products market to improve our products and meet customers’ needs as efficiently as possible. Many visitors attracted by successful sample testing have become regular customers.”
Olga Gribova, Technical Support Manager, OOO Roquette Rus

“Since 1994, our company has been developing innovative products and ingredients. We were first time exhibitors and have seen a lot of interest towards our products, and arranged several meetings with prospective clients right after the event. We did not doubt our success for a split second, having researched the Russian market and Russian consumer preferences extensively.”
Alexander Lyahu, President, Rollit
